Luke put this skirt “on” by himself and was so proud. No he doesn’t use a paci but found this one somewhere. When he realized we were laughing at him he just hammed it up and laughed himself.

Elizabeth thought she was too cool going to a skate party today. Sadly only one kid actually knew how to skate. The rest used these contraptions which I had never seen before. They were really great. By the end of the party Elizabeth had skating with the “walker” down to a science!
I love the concentration of this photo.
Logan is at the local Baptist church this year…in two weeks he’s already memorizing bible verses. His teacher said he’s picking up things quickly.
Today he came home to tell us John1:3-Through him all things are made. Then we went to the pool at the Y this evening and he says “ You know rainbows are God’s promise not to flood the earth again”. Defiantly picking things up from school.
He has been SOOO talkative lately, with us, with strangers, with anyone who will listen. It’s cute for the first 10 minutes and then we try to engage in some activity to slow the talking down! Sad but true.
And he’s such a sweet heart, I pick him up first and he was so proud that he found an acorn for his sister and couldn’t wait to give it to her. “sissy likes acorns, I saved this one for her”.
And then there’s Elizabeth, who learned a new prayer at school, I should get it on video. It’s a meal time prayer with hand motions. She had to teach all of us. You sing A-a-men, A-a-men at the end. The hand motion that goes with it is to put one fist in the other palm of your hand, gently. Every night she gets on to Logan for slamming his hand. Well, tonight Justin thought he’d be funny and pounded his hands. She looked at him and said, “Daddy, that’s not respectful to God.” Ouch that always hurts coming from a 5 yr old.
So, so far this school year is off to a good start and going in the right direction. I’m sure they are learning other, not so positive things from class mates but’s it’s all about balance – right?
I had to capture this mild stone…Elizabeth had her first test this past Tuesday. They must have talked it up Monday because she explained how they didn’t have test in PreK but big kids have tests. So Tuesday she comes home and I find this in her folder. I didn’t think they’d actually grade it but sure enough 14/14 was written at the top. Looked like a good start to me! And I promise not to post every test but we tried to make a big deal so we can keep the positive attitude with testing!
So I pick E up from school last week to find “spots” hanging out her bag! Great, he comes home on snack day and I knew I had not sent snacks that day – bad mommy award for the week!
Elizabeth so wants to read…she is trying to hard. She can “read=memorize” a few books like the one she read to Spots.
Spots is suppose to do everything with you for the evening and them mom has to log the “adventures” in Spots notebook.
So he helped her with her homework. I opened the notebook to find other overachieving parents included pictures. I’m thinking overnight?? Really? But I couldn’t be out done so hence these pics. On the home printer – not the best but defiantly expectable.
My sweet baby is growing up! Mommy is holding out on a hair cut but I’m afraid the day is coming.
My little girl is growing up…every day she does something that makes Justin and I realize just how big she is getting. Kindergarten is off to a great start. Both her teachers have great energy which is a perfect match for Miss E.
She’s real good playing with Luke. She informed me the other day he is no longer a baby, but a toddler – don’t remind me!
The kids were all hyped up for the tigers opening game this past Sat. You can see their energy shining through and this is morning of day two of rain…not day four!
