Happy Half Bday Luke!

Our baby boy is 6 months old...one of those happy and sad moments!

In the last month he's been very busy! He's able to sit up, rock on his knees, and army crawl on his belly! So we officially have a mobile one. I sat the big kids down and warned them if I find little toys on the floor they are going in the garbage! He eyeballs their stuff from across the room and goes for it!

He's also expanded him pallet a great bit this month with squash, sweet potatoes, peas, avocado, bananas, teething biscuits which he loves and the occasional fry to make him happy when were out to eat!

Although I know he's not saying it to me, he is making mama sounds, which still melts my heart.

As it has cooled off a little, we have been able to let him play outside more and he seems to really like the fresh air!

Can't wait to see what the next six months has in store! We love you Luke!

Army boy

He's on the move! Got the army craw going on just like his brother started! He started at the window and made it all the way across the room.

Flashback

With all Luke's movement lately it made me go back and check out the other kids. Always entertaining and the kids just can't get their mind around the video of themseleves!

Elizabeth doing the worm and Logan doing the army craw.

Also found this one which I thought was appropriate for football season!

Target or Bust

So Daddy and Papa headed to the Saints game this morning after church. So mommy decided it was time to head out to Target! Had a few home items I wanted to look for. Do you ever have that thought go through your head of what could happen and ignore it. As I was pulling out of the neighborhood I thought to myself, Justin's at the game and I know no one here yet to call if I need anything. But I'm not one to let that slow me down!

So fast forward about an hour and we are walking through Target. I had let the kids both get a $1 "prize" from the front buckets and told them we'd buy them if they behaved. So we are walking through looking a bras and the kids are close by the buggy, next thing I know Logan trips and falls right next to me. I don't think much of it because honestly he falls a lot. He's always trying to keep up with his sister. He's had his share of busted lips but usually it's nothing, he brushes it off. As I saw him fall, I also see his face plant into a metal rack stand. I'm thinking we are going to be missing a tooth. I pick him up and saw some blood so a sat him on the handle bars of the buggy, Luke is strapped in the seat, and we head toward the front of the store. Upon looking at it really is a pretty small cut right under his nostril but I can pull it apart and see tissue - yuk. Nothing you want to see on your own kid. But still not a lot of blood...the workers are no help and I'm concerned. I don't have a lot of experience with this type stuff...when do you head to the ER, when do you need stitches.

Since it's not bleeding I easily lather it up with antibiotic cream at the store and decide it's time to leave...this trip is officially a bust!

I drive toward our house knowing I'll be passing the hospital on the way but unsure whether we go or not. I decided to pull in and found a EMS worker smoking by his truck. So I pull up and give the pathetic mom story, he looks at it and says...as long as it's not bleeding, don't worry about it. That was enough for me to keep on going and head home.

So we are yet another step closer to the ER...we know with him it's coming...its just a matter of when.

War Eagle!!

I'm sitting here hoping Auburn can pull off another win! All three kids are snoozing. Poor Logan fell asleep on the couch watching the game. After us going to the first game without Elizabeth, she if very anxious to go to a game. She's going to be a tough girl if she keeps wearing Auburn gear to school!
This is where Luke spent the majority of the day today. On the ground, practicing moving! He's got the backwards crawfish move going on. And he also gets up on his knees and does the rocking that kids do. The cute part is the smile on his face as he does it - he's so excited and proud of himself. I'll try to get it on video this week. As fun as it is to watch this I also wish he'd slow down...I'm not ready for a third mobile one!

Me Bag

At Elizabeth's school they take turns bring snacks. The teacher cleverly sends a "Me Bag" home the night before to help the parents remember it's their snack day. The Me Bag is basically show and tell for the kids. They can put anything in it from home and share with the class on their snack day. So it was our turn last week which lead to this conversation with our daughter...

Mom: So what are you going to bring for show and tell?
E: The picture of Luke like I told you earlier.
Mom: Are you sure? You don't want to take a toy?
E: No I'm sure. I don't want to take your naked pictures.
Mom: (looking strangely at my husband) What are you talking about, Elizabeth?
E: You know mom, those naked pictures in your bathroom.
Mom and Dad start laughing hysterically...

...back a couple months ago we started P90X and one of the things is to take before and after pics. So we took "before" pics. I'm in a sports top and Justin with his shirt off...both of us have shorts on. Yes, I've very scared of when the teacher says "We just love talking with Elizabeth, she tells us all about her brothers and family." I can only imagine what she tells them.
