Storm chasers

Yeap, we are driving into the storm. Good news, no traffic! Bad news, no vacation. As much as we wanted to go it's just not the responsible choice to make. We are almost back to La and it looks like they've already gotten some rain. We did enjoy the game and have lots of pics to share when we get home. We'll keep everyone posted as long as we have power!

Power of Dixie Lamb!

No matter what happens with Gustav we do plan to go to Auburn's season opener Sat! We risked our child's life taking her out in Baton Rouge dressed like this - good thing she's cute so they tolerate it.

Go to Mexico!!

Not that I wish a hurricane on anyone but we are suppose to be vacationing at the beach next week. Not looking too promising. It's still early so I'm really hoping all the talk is for nothing and it blows west.

Better Day

So my goal for today is to have a better day today than yesterday. Less snot, less puke and less crying! Not too much for a mom to ask for, right?

So yesterday morning we are on the way to school and as I'm turning in the parking lot I hear this gagging sound and turn around in time to see Elizabeth puking all over herself, her car seat and my car! Now this is the first time she has ever thrown up so I'm pretty disgusted by the smell and she's crying because she doesn't understand and keep coming like 4 or 5 times. I pull into the parking lot and get her out of the car to realize I have 2 paper towels on my roll??? We get free paper towels from GP and I only have two when I need them the most. So I leave Elizabeth standing there and run into the school begging for something to clean my daughter with. They get me paper towels, a box of wipes, and a garbage bag and say have fun!! And for back ground music while I'm stripping my daughter's cloths off in the church parking lot is Logan screaming! So needless to say both kids came home and I went on a mission of disinfecting the house. Good bye germs, good bye puke, and good bye snot (we are still working on that one). Here's to a better day!

A little info...

Ok, so the doctors sense of urgency and ours as parents differ a little bit but he did finally call Justin back late today. He said he believes it's a dermoid cyst but that is assuming it's completely above the skull. As of right now there's not a huge urgency but he does want us to meet with the neuro sergeant to review everything before deciding what to do. So we've made that appointment for Sept 10th, after our vacation! So hopefully we can relax until then and enjoy some football and the beach!

TS Fay

Mostly a rain storm for Naples...but we are still keeping an eye on it and thinking of all our friends and family in Naples.

Final Answer?

I've known for a long time why I'm an analytical person and always loved math...because each problem only has one possible answer and it's either right or wrong. 2+2 always equals 4

So the Dr Lopoo calls today to say it's a cyst we just are not certain if it is in fact in the brain lining or not, I'm going to refer you to a neurosurgeon for a second opinion. At this point I'm really at a loss of words because that's not what I was expecting to hear. So he says they'll make the appointment and call us back. The nurse calls back and says Sept 3...and I'm thinking she's got to be crazy but no she's serious. I voice my concern with a 2.5 wk wait and she says maybe Dr Lopoo can call and get it moved up. Well, either way Dr Lopoo better be calling me on Wednesday morning to answer my questions - yeah he's out tomorrow! So I'm making my list of questions...level of concern he has for the cyst, if surgery is necessary and how urgent it is, etc So we continue to wait for the answers to our questions...

Please continue to pray for Logan and for the doctors!

New Tooth

While feeding Logan his breakfast this morning I noticed he has a second little tooth showing on the bottom. I tried feeling it but he wasn't up for that! Luckily this one came with little sleep disturbance!

No news :(

Despite what mom was hoping for, it looks like we are going to have to wait until Monday to hear back from the doctor. I made Justin call and they said that Dr Lopoo had the report but was out today. (probably playing golf or something important like that!) No news is good news, right? Look at that happy smile!

First Day!

Elizabeth had her first day of big girl school on Monday. She has really enjoyed it and is excited to go each morning. I think she likes seeing her friends there.

ABC's

Yes, we still have some work to do but she's off to a good start. Elizabeth start's "school" tomorrow so we'll have to try this again at the end of the year for comparison.

Happy 8 months!

He's already practicing spiking the football.

Why do I have to share my camera time with her? - Logan

Logan has been busy this month...going from barely pulling his self around on the ground to crawlling from room to room and pulling his self up on everything. We've noticed he uses his knees some when on carpet but since most of house is wood and tile it opts for the sit and scoot on his bottom. He is sitting up on his own and just starting to take a few steps while holding on to things like the tub and coffee table. Still only one little tooth. All the new "talents" have put a damper on a once good sleeper. The week sitting was new he would wake up in the middle of the night a scream because he couldn't lay back down and go to sleep. And now instead of sitting it's standing.

Balloons!!

This weekend was a balloon festival in Baton Rouge so we went to check out the fun Friday night.

Bubbles bubbles bubbles...
Logan taking it all in.
Elizabeth and Daddy played in the water balloon toss. They had a super balloon that won't break!

This marry-go -round is small but it was just the right speed for our little girl.

Goofy picture of us looking at the sky!

What a day!

**This post is outside our normal what's the kids up to...it's more of a venting/destressing session for mom!

So we wake up early this morning because Logan isn't allowed to have anything after 8am. So I nurse him, then about 7:30 decide we should get some cereal to help tie him over through the MRI. As I'm filling the bowl of supper flaky cereal with water he grabs it spilling half mush on the floor. (Mess #1)

Then Elizabeth wakes up, and I find her and her bed covered in #2 (for mess #2). So I get her cleaned up and to the table to eat breakfast so I can finish cleaning her room. While on my hands and knees with blench I hear a crash from the kitchen...you guessed it...blow of cereal and milk all over the kitchen floor (mess #3).

Already full of stress because of the ongoing waiting game with Logan, I'm at the end of my rope after the three messes. But we've got to get out the door to get Elizabeth to a sitter and Logan to the hospital so no time to cry of spilt milk...yes pun intended!!

As I'm working on loading up the car the phone rings, it's Women's and our MRI machine is having problems today, we need to reschedule. You've got to do WHAT!!! While I wasn't looking forward to actual sedation and all, this doesn't make it go away, it just postpones us getting answers, you've got to be kidding me. Oh and by the way, we only do one sedation patient a day so it will be Wednesday before we can reschedule. So we have five more days to wait and worry. Yeah, I shouldn't worry, but I can't help it...the longer it draws out the more time I have to worry. I do have faith that God will get us through whatever he hands us but that doesn't stop the worring about my baby.

So Elizabeth was invited to a pool party today, end of summer kind of thing, so in an effort to relax we head there, in the rain. The rain blew over a few times but all in all it was a good time. After all the kids had eaten, we headed back to the pool for a quick swim before nap time. There were about 12 adults and 20 some kids. Four of us were sitting around the "wadding" pool and next thing I hear is some one yell get him out of the water. One of the little boys Elizabeth plays with all the time had some how lost his floaty ring and was kicking and grasping for air. It was a matter of 30 sec or less but it was scary how quickly he turned blue. The poor baby (2yr) was scared to death. The EMS came to check him out and said everything was fine but of course that scared everyone of us, it all happens so fast even with so many moms to watching over them.

I think it's time for a drink!!

Happy Birthday!!

Happy Birthday Mimi!

Our little Unicorn

ok...so maybe parents shouldn't call their little boy that but that has been what Justin has always said and the drs both agreed today. Back up to last week and I took Elizabeth to the dr (only third time in two and half years) turns out it's just allergies, again. But Dr Santos didn't like the way Logan's "bump" was looking, she thought it had grown. So we went for an ultrasound Friday...waited all weekend to find out Monday, nothing, waiting until today to meet a new dr and found out, nothing...and now we are schedule for a MRI on Friday...and probably won't find out anything until next Monday or Tuesday!! Yuck...we know many people out there who have gone through far more and chances are this is nothing...but the waiting and no answers gets old fast when they are talking about your little one!! Please join us in praying that it is indeed outside the skull (not in the brain!) and no immediate action is required! Also throw in a prayer for patience for both Justin and myself as anyone who knows us knows, that even together we don't add up to a lot of patience!

Up, up, up

Look at me Mom!
I can even let go with one hand!
Doing the splits...as you can see Logan is getting pretty steady on his feet and pulling up on EVERYTHING!

Peanut season

Yummy, yummy, boiled peanut time! Elizabeth loved them!

I don't care about the peanut, I'm going to get the camera - Logan

Good Morning!

Elizabeth has been on a waffle jag lately. This morning when I left the room to get the baby she stole the paper for some morning news!

Driven Elizabeth

We are driving through town...

E: Going to the bank Mama?
Mom: No honey.
E: Going to the bank Mama?
Mom: No, why do we need to go to the bank?
E:Get money.
Mom: Why do we need money?
E: I need money...I put it in my piggy bank.

So she's already trying to get our money, but at least she is saving it!
