Squats!

I was trying to get down on their level to take their picture...they are monkey see, monkey do, so they squatted!
My beautiful baby girl!

And my handsome little boy! Every day he reminds me he's not a baby anymore!

Oddles of noodles

Slow but growing

Logan's hair is slowly growing and we might need to trim his ears sooner or later. For now I keep brushing it behind his ears. He didn't get a big kick out of me spiking his hair after bath time or taking the pictures. He was more than ready for bedtime.

"Redneck"

We will be celebrating our 9th wedding anniversary this week and decided it was high time for a little adult get away! The Sr Kings were very excited about the chance to come watch the little ones for the weekend. Justin and I headed down to NO Sat afternoon with plans for a little stroll around french quarter, mass, and dinner. Upon returning to our car which had been in public parking lot, we found the window was down. Did we forget to put it back up? That's odd? We get in the car and realize, we didn't leave it down because it's now broken and won't go back up. We are thankful to find my purse and camera are still in the trunk!! We believe someone was trying to break in and either the alarm or other people scared them off. We still had another hour drive south to the water, so off we go with no window on the driver's door. Then a hot two hour trip back to BR Sunday evening.
The fishing was great...after a slow start will filled the cooler. I caught my first red fish (picture above). We had a great time just being out on the water, not having to worry about the kids for a few hours, and have an adult conversation without interruption.
The down side to the trip for me is my burnt neck! It is sooo sore. I applied and reapplied sunscreen while we were out there but somehow didn't think about my neck! ouch!

Summer time

Lots of clouds but still very hot....it's defiantly summer even late in the evening!!
Elizabeth got about half way up before asking for help but she really needed little assistance...it was more back up and verbal support.
Yeah Mom! I made it to the top!

At least he'll take the binky out upon request for a pic.

You can see the excitement in Elizabeth's face!

It's official

I registered for the Rocketchix triathlon, Aug 1st. Tonight I completed the full amount for the first time...350meters in the pool, 12 mile bike and 2 mile run. The swim is by far the worse part and more on my lungs than legs which surprised me. I did the bike and run at the gym in the comfort of the a/c. I've got about 6 wks to accustom myself to the August summer heat which makes any outside activity twice as bad! We ran a 5k a few weeks ago and the sun beating down at 8:30 was brutal. But I feel I am at a good point for now and am excited about officially completing it.

Time

I had the spare time this morning before church to take a few pictures but no one would coorporate.
Elizabeth and Logan went out and climbed right in the car...
and my husband...well he just didn't want his picture taken...maybe next time he'll smile!

Where's your...

Belly...
Tongue

We played outside most of the weekend. Logan has all his body parts down and we just think him showing off his tongue in the cutest thing. I have tried twice to get it all on video but he never cooperates for that!
Saturday night Justin and I sat in awe as our kids played to happily together! They had the T-ball set out. Elizabeth would hit the ball (pretty well I must add) and Logan would run across the drive way after it. He's pick it up and run it back and put it on the stand for his "sissy". This went on over and over and was so pleasant to watch!

At the table

We do spend time NOT at the dinner table, but from the pics you wouldn't believe me!

We opened a can of black olives to have with taco salad for dinner since both the kids love them! We turned our backs to finish getting dinner ready and found Logan dumping the whole bowl on his plate!
We never eat breakfast out but Daddy decided to get biscuits for the folks at work and brought some by the house. Logan chowed down on his sausage and tater tots!

Lone pic

I wish I could say our camera is broken as an excuss but we've just been busy living life and haven't slowed down long enough to take pics. I did sit the camera out on the table in hopes of picking it up more and got this one single pic of Logan. I made a soybean dip and Logan loved it. It reminds me of a pesto except you use cooked edamame and ricotta cheese. We plan to stay around the house all weekend...our garden is coming in...so hopefully we can get a few pics to share!
