Hats!

Hey I can't see!
Peek a boo.

Can I go to bed yet?

I am so happy! I found Daddy's hats!

He looks too cute in that Auburn hat, doesn't he?? We are raising another tiger fan!

Money 101

We always make Elizabeth put money she gets into her bank and she's really good about it. So she got some money for valentines and kept talking about buying something with her "cash". "I could just buy it with my cash" would be Elizabeth response when we don't have what she wants to eat...yogurts, candy, ect. So we let her take a dollar to the grocery store today. She decided she wanted to get a little bottle of chocolate milk. Because of tax, I also gave her a dime when we got to the counter. The cashier at LeBlanc's was super and played along, allowing Elizabeth to "scan" her own item behind the counter before checking out. Then Elizabeth gave her the dollar but didn't want to let the dime go. Once I told her the lady would give her 4 coins back for her 1 she thought that was great! So in Elizabeth's mind 8 cents is greater than 10!

Freedom!

With much hesitation, we finally gave Elizabeth the freedom of a big girl bed. I did the change while her and Daddy were outside playing and she was quite surprised and happy when I showed her. We had no problems putting her to bed so hopefully we don't get any surprise tonight. We've been letting her sleep in big beds while traveling since last summer so hopefully it will be an easy, uneventful transition for her. He may be "playing with dolls" but he does have a solid football hold on its head!

One crib, four babies! Logan was almost as happy as Elizabeth when be first discovered the new climbing structure. He hoped right in with no hesitation. Lately its gotten to the point if he's not in bed by 8pm he will basically find he blanket and walk in there and ask us to put him in his crib. I have a feeling we may find him asleep in Elizabeth's bed before long.

Mardi Gras, Birthday and Work

We've had a busy week! Most of Baton Rouge was closed Monday and Tuesday because of Mardi Gras. Tuesday was not only Fat Tuesday but also Daddy's and Tom's birthdays. Mommy and Daddy went out Friday for daddy's birthday dinner (yummy) so Tuesday we just stayed in, grilled steaks and by request mom made chocolate "lava" cakes. I tried a smores recipe out of RR's magazine and it was a hit! Justin wanted a stand for his heavy bag and the kids got a kick out of playing with it. Mommy was very busy with work this week but managed to get a way one night for her book club. We read "Shack" which I would highly recommend. I'm not much of a reader but it was an easy, enjoyable book. Then Friday Elizabeth's school shut down because of the stomach bug. Too many teachers were getting it for the second time around. Hopefully next week they will all be healthy again!

Parade time

Elizabeth's school celebrated Mardi Gras today (since all schools are closed Monday and Tuesday for it). The kids parade around throwing beads to parents and siblings. We got lucky and the weather was gorgeous!
Borrowing sissy's crown.
Logan just loved that he could be done on the ground, grabbing the beads since he's not allowed to during the real parades. You can tell he's been to a few parades before as he knows just what to do with the beads.

Hey mom, enough pics!!

Elizabeth and her friend Sebastien...he's about two weeks younger than her. They live in our neighborhood and we've known them since the kids were about 6 months old.

The 2 year old paraders with Queen Alice!

The excitement of the mask wore off fast!

Logan loves getting to go in Elizabeth's room and be a big kid. He joined right in for chip and dip and king cake!

Voom, voom

Ma gave Logan this little "car" bowl last week and I let him eat his lunch in it the other day. He thought it was the coolest thing and Elizabeth was so jealous. The best part is he was able to play with it when he got board with eating. He is so little boy, he loves pushing any type of truck, car, etc and making the voom, voom sound.

My big girl!!

I was so proud of Elizabeth Sat when I asked her to sign Ma's valentine card, to my surprise she sat down and wrote an "E". So again today I gave her a piece of paper and she did the same thing and then proceed to write l and i also...three down six more to go...if only mom and dad had name her Sue. She may be able to write her name before she can sary it(cleary). Since she missed her party Friday she got her "box" today and enjoyed digging through it.

Peak a boo

Logan was being silly tonight running around, dancing, climbing...he's finally feeling better. No puking in almost 48 hrs!!

Self video

I turned the screen around back wards so Logan could see his self and he got a big kick out of it.

Happy Valentines!

Friday nights parade got rained out and it wasn't looking much better today. And to top it off Logan had puked five times today so we headed home early afternoon. Puke in the car - twice what fun!! It's the most romantic Valentine's we've had! We seem to be turning the corner with him and so far everyone else is ok. We are just hoping he ate something that didn't agree with him and it's not a bug that will go around the house.

Night out!

Thanks to Ma for watching the kids after the parade!! We got a night of adult fun and even enjoyed a little dancing.

OOP

Mimi's parade was Thursday so we made the trip over Thursday.

Best seat in the house.

Enjoying the moon pies.

Moon pies, moon pies!

After one bite he was hooked!

I'm ready!

Mardi Gras time

It's that time of year again...

Elizabeth entertaining Daddy while we wait for the parade.

Hammin' it up for the camera. That's the state capital in the background.

Logan stayed entertained climbing all over the stroller like a jungle gym. Until the two little girls next to us started paying attention to him...then he flirted with them the rest of the night.

Elizabeth and Daddy watching things fly through the air.
Elizabeth had the biggest smile when she saw the floats start coming. Halfway through the parade she became tired of the beads and stuffed animals and asked "where's the candy". The last parade we went to (Zachary Christmas parade) she loaded up on candy and she thought this would be the same.

The last float made her night and threw and tootsie pop her way! And Mom and Daddy were excited when Elizabeth scored the can of Cajun Seasoning!! Only in Louisiana.

Children's Museum

We went and checked out the children's museum in Lafayette. Both kids had a great time. It's basically made up of several "stations".

A mini grocery store.

Elizabeth getting the apple. They give you a shopping list of four items and then you can go check out. The check out is color code and gives you a receipt when your done. After the lady handed Elizabeth the receipt I said, ok Elizabeth we need to go put your stuff back up. To which my daughter had a melt down...I bought them Mom!! We have to take them home! I want to eat it!! She didn't understand that the boxes where not filled with real food.

They also had a little diner.
Look closely and you'll notice there's a bubble completely around Elizabeth.
Bubble room...

News room

Ambulance which Logan loved climbing all over and driving.

This wasn't as bad as I fear because they had a bale of hay on the other side to help "boost" you up.
Home stretch...we had to put on tightywhites to finish the race.
Quick start for Daddy.

The worst part of the race not because of getting dirty but wet shoes and socks with 2+miles left equals blisters!

Finishing strong!
