Sportsman Paradise

The Department of Wildlife and Fisheries had their annual rec day - fishing, canoeing, shooting, archary. Along with a game cookout of wild boar, shrimp, aligator, catfish, and venison. It was a great morning of family fun, despite the heat, and best of all it was all free. It may become an annual family outing.
Kids and mom had their first fishing experiance with cane poles. Those fish were hungry and eating the crickets the minute they hit the water.

Logan petting the alligator.

Elizabeth loved the aligator! We had to pull her away.

I thought this was the strangest display...duck heads!

It was suppose to rain at 10. We were there from 9-11:30 and it was 90F plus and 90% humidity. We were all wiped out!

Bing, bang, boom

Not long after Elizabeth was born there was an article in Parents magazine about child spacing. The pros and cons to having kids close(the bing, bang, boom approach) or spacing them out by several years. And once we had the first, we both felt - ok we've started, why wait too long before the next. Some may say 20 months is too close but it's worked out fine for us and now our kids play together pretty well for the most part. (yes they are still sister and brother and have their moments)
All of this is to say, we are pregnant again, and "BOOM" will make an appearance sometime early April. So yes, it will be 3 kids, 4 and under so life will get crazy for a while next spring but I have no doubt we'll find our new normal with Bing, Bang and Boom.
We were excited to hear the baby's heartbeat for the first time earlier this week! The dr said it was strong and fast!

A few more random beach pics

Elizabeth was all about singing Happy Birthday when we promised her a piece of ice cream cake!

Sisterly love, not so sure brother is all about the love, it looks more like pain.

At the new Gulf Shores pier.

Playing in the sand with Papa.

Pool time...thanks to our personal camera man we got some family shots!

Splish Splash

The kids spent countless hours in the pool.
It only took five days but Elizabeth finally got comfortable putting her face in the water to blow bubbles.

My happy guy!

The kids trying to stomp out the fountains.

He loves the water! It was a zero entry pool and he pushed the limits, hopping on his tippy toes, over and over again. I see swim leasons in his future!

Sand sand and more sand

Logan is not quite the fan of sand his sister is. He wanted to be buried but the minute he'd sit down he got up and was made to be covered in sand.
Elizabeth on the other hand was buried more time than we can count and would stay still for plenty of photo opts! Here Papa covered her in sand castles!

The kids could destroy sand castles faster than Papa could build them!

Daddy dug Elizabeth a supper deep whole leaving her covered to the neck!

Walking in the sand was quite the workout for Logan's little legs but he managed just fine.

Wiped Out

This is what five days at the beach does to both young and young at heart!

Meeting sweet Emily

Saturday we headed to Auburn to meet our new cousin Emily (yeah there was a ball game too but this is really why we were excited to go!)

Ready for her first Auburn game at 10 days old!

She doesn't even know what's in store for her as she sleeps peacefully.

I think Elizabeth had more fun with Lucy and

Mogli! They all three chased each other around the house! Little do they know that's what they have coming in the next 6 months!

Elizabeth and Emily! Elizabeth was real gentle around Emily and loved holding her finger!

Happy 65th Birthday Papa

We couldn't let Papa birthday pass without a little embarrassment at Hooters! It was all out of love!

Start to a good week

She decided if she needed a power nap before kickoff.
Daddy and Elizabeth watching the GA game.

She wasnt afraid of Aubie but she made sure to keep a safe space between them.

Elizabeth was thrilled to get here Tiger paws. Mom wasn't thrilled when they rubbed off on her white shirt.

Popcorn , hot dogs, cookies...what more could a girl want!

Cutie

Logan makes a cute girl with his bambam pony and long eyelashes! He better think twice about trying on those dress up clothes of his sister! His uncle bry can a test to that!

It's that time of year again!

They are ready for another exciting Auburn football season!
