LSU Tailgate

On the right is James and Lauren made it in town for the LSU game. Middle is Tom and Leslie (aka Hotel Davis). And on the left end is Hannah...she didn't want to miss out on photo time!
Yes, Elizabeth is covered in chocolate. It was a great day despite the lose to LSU.

Neil and Jessica
Hannah took this pic of Justin - she did a great job!

Vintage

While in Naples for the forth of July we got this great float which has really worked out for Elizabeth. Thanks Grant for sharing.
It gives just enough support but she still has to use her legs and arms to stay upright so it really does seem to encourage swimming. She swam many laps in the pools and wore her little legs slap out.
Elizabeth holding on "tight-tight" because the bump of the elavator scares her.

Big girl bed

I tried to get Elizabeth's pic in the big bed during nap time. She heard me come in though and when she saw the camera she said "cheese" while still half asleep.

Family Vacation 2008

Logan and Elizabeth loved climbing up the castle that daddy built. This is actually the day after. Logan thought of it as more as a climbing mountain. They both love to crash down mommy and daddy's hard work!
We attempted to get some pics the last day. I've given up having both kids smiling and looking at the camera at the same time.

We got crazy and drove home tonight after the game. We all wanted our own beds. Long day long driven late night but it will be worth it tomorrow, I mean today.

On the road again

So we are back on I65 again headed back to Auburn. We made it to the beach 3x each day and once this morning before leaving. We had a great, relaxing, week. We have a couple more days of fun before heading back home. I think we are all ready to be in our own beds!

Beach day one

We made it to the beach late Sunday. Monday we spent almost six hours at the pool/beach over the course of three trips. Elizabeth did great with her latest floaty from Grant (mommy use to babysit him, he's 16). She's also slept in the big girl bed, all by herself, the past two nights, after mom and dad noticed she was longer than the pack n play! We will have lots of pics, including one of our LSU flag which is probably flying already, once we get home!

9 month check up

Today Logan had his 9 month check up. Good news no shots...bad news first ear infection and I didn't even know it. So we got our first prescription filled in ages. And I was surprised to see it's still that same pink, refrigerate stuff we got as kids!
Logan weighed in at 20lbs 13 oz and 28 inches. I looked back and Elizabeth had him by 2oz at this age but he has her by almost an inch in height. Had he not had the stomach bug a few weeks back and stopped eating for a week maybe he would have stayed ahead of her.

Chicken Nuggets for Breakfast?

So last night we had buffalo chicken sandwiches and potato wedges. We cut up some of the chicken to make "chicken nuggets" for Elizabeth. Well, she didn't want anything but a icy. Of course, no dinner, no treat. We had this conversation many times over the course of the evening and each time offered her her dinner. Well, she went to bed with nothing.

So this morning she woke up and was given her dinner for breakfast and low and behold - she was hungry and ate all her chicken nuggets without a complaint.

Treat

We have fall into bribery to get Elizabeth to behave in church. We told her if she was good she could have a "treat" (icey) when we got home. And then she was nice enough to share with her "baby brother".

3-2???

Yes that was Auburn football score last night against Miss St. I sure hope we play better next week or we may be stuck flying a LSU flag at our house. Yes the crazy bets we make!
We had a little tailgating party yesterday and there was more purple and gold than orange and blue!! The party skipped town when the LSU game on since they knew that wasn't going to happen while Auburn was playing. At one point our orange "Auburn" room had 6 boys all in there LSU jersey - it was really too cute.

Latest on the "bump"

We met with Dr Joseph today, the neurosurgeon, and we both really liked him. He was matter of fact about everything and answered all our questions.

He agrees that it appears to be a dermoid cyst and does need to be removed. No rush, but long term it could put pressure on his brain if left untreated. He will do the surgery and it's handle out patient which made me feel better. Mama doesn't want to have to leave her baby at the hospital if she doesn't have too! He said we could just call and make an appointment so we'll probably try to set a date in late Oct. I guess if your a brain surgeon most other surgeries are simple and the doctor seems to think this will be a pretty simple, painless procedure.

We'll keep everyone updated once we start moving forward with the surgery but for now we are focusing on trying again for our beach vacation the end of Sept!

Waiting

Our appointment got pushed out til 11 so we are killing time until then

9 months young!

Standing steady and cruising along everything.
Always full of smiles.

And loves his big sister! Today we were driving home and Elizabeth turned to Logan in the back seat and said "I missed you baby brother." I then asked her if she missed mommy and she said "No, I missed my brother!"

Logan has had a busy month working on his balance. He's gotten pretty good. He can walk/push behind all of Elizabeth's bikes all the way across the drive way at home. He loves to eat anything he can put in his mouth by his self. So far we tried soy beans, green peas, carrots, potatoes, cheerios, chicken, red fish, bread, etc. Pretty much what ever we eat he's been trying lately. I think the days of feeding him mush are numbered. He left behind proof on his crib that his top tooth has broken through! And tonight I swear he took a step before falling...he's defiantly on his way to walking. My baby no longer likes to cuddle unless he's asleep or nursing. Otherwise he's on the ground getting into things.

Ei Ei Oh!

After all the rain the flowers and grass are all green and growing!
Two kids means twice the pictures and none turn out just right! But everyone is cute to us.
Thanks Beth for making me such a beautiful dress! All the details are amazing! Elizabeth was very excited to get her "pig" dress in the mail. She had a sneak peak when we were in Naples but it wasn't quite finished yet. And she remembered it too because a few week before we got it she asked me about her pig dress and this is the only pig outfit we have.

Do you think our neighbors like us?? They really won't when they loose the bet and have to fly an Auburn flag at their house in two weeks!

Game Time!

Elizabeth was glued to the TV checking out Tim Tebow on Game Day, even though he's a Gator.
Is it time for the game yet?

New Dew!

Daddy and Elizabeth had fun making hair dos in the tub.

Yum, yum

Eating avacado just like his sister! He's up for eating anything these days he can self feed.

More learning...

Tagged

So big thanks to Adriene for tagging me! And Stephanie for putting on the pressure to complete!

My Top 6 Quirks: (I'm sure my husband could come up with a few I'm not even aware of!)

1. Don't bother me when I'm cleaning! I get into clean mode and don't want anyone to bother me until I'm done.

2. Name brands...when it comes to cleaning items and certain foods I don't like to change brands...Tide, Dixie Crystals, Lipton Tea. I think it's a woman thing but it drives Justin crazy.

3. I only iron once a month. I rarely iron just an item to wear. I save it all and then do a 3 hr ironing marathon, typically on Sunday afternoons.

4. Dinner food vs lunch foods. There are certain things I don't eat for dinner...hot dogs, sandwiches, tacos (Justin has changed me on this one)...not that I don't like them , it's just not dinner food!

5. Nail bitter! Especially when I'm stressed.

6. Reading strangers blogs!

I tag Molly and Kristi.

Reporting from Zachary LA

We were entertained Monday morning, before loosing power, by the weather personnel and their over dramatization of the weather. So once the power went out, we got bored, and Justin decided to check things out. This was in the first half of the storm. Things picked up a little on the back half of the storm and then this morning there was some flooding in our neighborhood. Our super strong fence, built by Justin, was one of few in our neighborhood not damaged. We took a walk tonight after dinner because we needed out of the house!! It does appear from what little we've seen so far things are much worse in Baton Rouge than we got from Katrina or Rita 3 yrs ago. We have several adjacent neighborhoods and friends without power so we got very lucky!

Two storms down...three to go last I checked. I think Gustav was enough for this year for us.

Go team Go!

Hannah cheering, Elizabeth eating!
Reilly enjoying his first game.

Game time!

After a long day of tailgating Elizabeth crashed on the walk over to the stadium. Then her brother crashed shortly after we got to the stadium and both snoozed for a good 30 mins.Watching the action on the field.
Timeout for a kiss!
Hannah and Elizabeth kept each other entertained a good portion of the game.
This is fun Dad...lets do this again!

More tailgating fun

Elizabeth was a little more up for seeing Aubie this year, with Daddy of course!
Elizabeth getting her hi five in with Aubie.
Mimi and Elizabeth inside the Odyssey 2000.
Motel 6....I mean Tom and Leslie our gracious hosts for the weekend.
I wonder who's leading who?

Power!

We've got power!!! 18 hours was very doable but at breakfast we were looking at peanuts, peanut butter, and crackers. Pretty much what we ate yesturday so power is a good thing! It's still raining, ALOT so it looks like another day inside for us. Hopefully things clear up by tomorrow so everyone who needs help/repairs can get it.

Gustav

We are all fine! It's windy and we lost power around 1:30.

Tailgating fun

Courtesy of Neil, we had new cover - the Odyssey 2000. Defiantly the most unique tent out there! The day was hot but the fan and tents made it bearable.
Wow, there is all kinds of stuff to get into around here. Logan scoping out the tailgating grounds.
Elizabeth slowing down for a pic in her new cheerleading outfit.
Logan and Daddy playing.

WAR EAGLE!!!!!!

We all survived Auburn's kick off game on Sat.
