New Computer

We finally broke down and bought a new computer to replace our laptop that died six months ago and our aging 8+ year old desktop.  I really didn’t think much of it as I’m not one to keep up with the latest technology but wow…only a couple hours in and I’m really excited.  Picking out a new computer was worse than buy a car and I’m glad it’s behind us.

Any body have experience with live writer??

We all the national news on the flooding of the Mississippi River we were keeping a close eye on the levee which is about half a mile from our house.  This is really as high as it got though so where never in any real danger of flooding.

We had a great time visiting with Grammy and Papa Snell.  They were a great help as daddy has been traveling a good bit lately.

This is where Logan went to MDO…is a very small Methodist church very similar in size to the one my parents got married in, in WV.

Ribs–Yummy!

Travel

This is what I do while my husband is out of town. I'm real excited about the final product - it only took five samples purchases!

We decided while the floors are out we should go ahead and paint the last two bedrooms. Well, papa did Luke's room last week and I hope to finish our room soon. This will mean we have repainted out entire house with exception of the laundry room. That's a lot if paint!

They all asked for you...

We had to take Grammy somewhere in New Orleans other than school programs, so we made a quick trip to the zoo!
Elizabeth loves checking out the animals up close whenever she has the opportunity.

Evolution??

Our full car!

Bar a thon

So with the parents in town, Justin and I went for a date night last Friday. But not your typical dinner and a movie. We participated in our first road race in NOLA and it was defiantly a NOLA style race...6 bar, 6 miles, 6 beers! I was more nervous about the beer than the running...but some how we were able to finish both the run and the beer! When capped the night with some bar food and where home by 11. I took this pic of the map that Justin had in his pocket...yeap, worn with butt sweat - yuk!

Summer fun begins

Tball time!

She does fairly well hitting...we just need candy at each base to get her to run. She litterally walked between 1st and 2nd her first at bat.
She's the lead off hitter!

He can't stand the excitement of watching tball!

Pictures make it look like she's giving way more effort than she really does!

Throw the ball...throw the ball...it seemed like forever before she finally threw it.

The one part she has down.

Saturday's game was the hottest by far...afraid summer is setting in...even at 9AM.

Logan helped Papa paint Lukes room!

Camping time!

The kids even managed to talk Grammy into camping outside with them while she was visiting.

OLPH End of Year Program/Splash Day

She wasn't so sure about the big slides at first but after a couple times and some sugar...we had to pull her away!
Those little kids where thrown all around these big slides.

They sang a full line up of songs! Elizabeth did pretty well with all her words and hand motions. I"ll try posting some videos from my phone soon.

Sad day...

After a busy week of lots of fun we had to say bye bye to Grammy today :(

New Orleans Air Show 2011

Having never been to an air show before we really didn't know what to expect or how long we'd stay but we thought, it's five minutes from our house so we should at least check it out!

These noisy fast jets have been buzzing our house repeatedly this week along with the Blue Angles as they all practiced for the show.
Lots of Coast Guard around here too, so we see these at least weekly too.

Luke managed to fall asleep and stay asleep through some of the nosiest parts of the show. I guess when your tired your tired. It was funny watching him as it got loud you could tell he tensed up but it was like it was just too much effort to open his eyes!

Logan being cheesy!

Of course, we found Aubie hanging around one of the display plans! We had a feeling we may run into some Auburn pilots.

Logan checking out the BIG gun. He's always talking about pow guns as he calls them but I think this one was a little intimidating!

Logan and I checking out one of the coast guard planes. He liked being able to walk in and out through the back hatch.

Climbing aboard the chopper.

Ahhhhh....All in all we ended up staying over four hours. The kids were great. Thanks to Chevron, who happened to be a sponsor, we got up close parking, drinks and food, and shade tent for watching. We would have never made it that long without the shade!

Fun in a box

Boxes are kids best toys! This particular one got lots of use indoors and then was moved outdoors, torn apart, tapped back together and is now a rocket ship according to the kids!

Cinco de Mayo

After skipping out last year because we had just moved that week, we resumed our tradition of having friends over for our rendition of Mexican food, a few margaritas, and of course a pinata!

Art work

I love how their art work evolves as they get older. She's gone from scribbling to drawing real pics - in this case flowers.

Trouble

We had a quite weekend around the house. Perfect ending to the end of spring break for the kids. Crazy thing is less than three weeks of school left this year...and then I'll have a kindergartner on my hands :(

These potatoes came our of our garden, and yes some are purple! To be honest we have boiled and baked them and they weren't too good. So while frying fish tonight I decided to finish them off and make fries. Smart move...everything is good fried, right?!?! We also fried some squash because cause it's getting out of control. We are already starting to share it because we can't eat it fast enough.
This is what happens when some one refuses to nap. It looks like he's getting a second molar in this week and I hope that's the cause of his SUPER crankiness. We are ALL over it!

Don't mind the mess, we were cleaning out the pantry, and someone found a party hat!

And this would be one of many reasons we decided it was time to reorganize the pantry...little hands getting a hold of everything!!! We need to got ahead and install shelves all the way up the high walls just to keep moving everything out of his way.

Number one no-no with pets...don't let your children mess with them while they eat. And honestly most of the time we feed Auburn when everyone is inside but lately we've been spending most of our evenings and weekends outside enjoying the beautiful weather. Luke will make a b-line for Auburn's dish. We are very lucky Auburn is very tolerable of the kids. Speaking of which, Auburn turned 10yr this month too! So we are officially over b-day's until Dec!
