Tom and Leslies Shower

This past weekend we loaded up and headed to Mobile for Tom and Leslie's baby shower. As always it was good to see all their family together.
We played a few games...some a little harder than other! Every one's baby pics where quite funny...you had the old black and whites, the seventies orange, and the great grands which were all new and crisp!

Tom checking out the contents of his "dooty" pail. All the essentials for diaper duty.

Three generations...yes that's Ma that just happened to be in the back ground.

They got a lot of nice gifts and even a few new things, it's amazing how quickly baby stuff comes and goes! Above is a Tummy Tub. It's like a bath but is suppose to simulate the womb.

Tom trying on the hooter hider! No Tom, that gifts for Leslie only!
One of many beautiful day gowns for little Emily. Let the pink take over!!

Logan made it for a couple hours but then crashed. He said 7pm is his bed time not party time!

Look at the lip of little miss helper, that call determination!

Okra popscile

At dinner last night we cooked some purple hulls with okra boiled in. I love boiled okra but Justin's not a fan. Elizabeth saw me eating it and said "Can I have a bite?" Sure. I joked it was like an okra Popsicle. She took a bite. No gagging or spitting but reluctant to take another bite she turns to Justin, "Want a bite daddy, it's just like a Popsicle!" After going back and forth, Justin finally gave in a took a tinny little bite to make his daughter happy!
And in typically fashion, Logan ate his weight in purple hulls asking for second and thirds until we had none left to give him. Lately he's become a picky eater but when he decides he like something watch out!

Mayday Pier in Daphne

Thinks she is such a big girl for climbing a few inches off the ground!
Aunt T having fun with the kids!

It was around 3 in the afternoon and it felt like 100 degrees although I don't think it was. We knew it was time to head home when everyone was flush!

Logan scretching with excitement about the water rolling in.

Trying to figure out how to get off the pier and into the water?

Random pics...

Fishin'

Our friends graciously invited a few of us over to their parents house to do a little fishing in their pond. I told Elizabeth about it earlier in the day and her response was "I'm going to catch the biggest fish!" She was so excited. I guess all her daddy's talk of fishing and our recent fishing trip had rubbed off on her.

Elizabeth and her first fish(notice fish is hiding on Logan's rear). Once there she showed more interest than we thought she would, reeling in several fish before giving into the great friends and food!

Logan and his first fish! No he didn't reel much but he didn't want to let go of the pole either.

War Eagle!

Like father like son!

Sharing

Logan was quite the gentleman tonight sharing his ice cream. And the night was complete without a big ole kiss to send her home.

Progress or lack there of

Just a little soggy!
Poor baby had to go to time out for hitting his sister.

We've been spending our evening out back enjoying our half finished porch. They've got the roof complete. Just need to paint and stain the concrete. Hopefully this week they will be able to finish it all up! It's still hot out but at least we got some rain today (thanks to Justin for smoking dinner - like clock work the smoker heats up the rain clouds come!)

Puppy poses

They had facepainting at church and despite her parents many other suggestions Elizabeth stood her ground that she wanted a full face painting - puppy style! This isn't Elizabeth's first but it amazes us every time how long she will sit still for this.
Cool hand Luke! If only he would leave them on!

3 generations of Kings!

I happen to see the 3 playing on the couch and figured I better take the opportunity while it was there to take a picture. You'd think with only one kid and two adults it wouldn't be that hard...

No bang 4th!

The kids favorite things were the poppers!

Best seat in the house according to Elizabeth!

We quickly learned Elizabeth was not so fond of the traditional 4th noises. As soon as dad lit the first little crackling tank Elizabeth made a B line for the door. We managed to sneak her outside a few more time but she was having nothing of the loud sounds. Logan wasn't crazy about them but in the arms of mom would tolerate them. He loved the sparklers and would have put them out with his bare hands if we would allow.
