Peek a boo

...I see you!!!

I love to shop!!

Elizabeth and her new shopping cart.
Little miss mechanic inspecting her wheels.

I think I have too much stuff , this cart is getting hard to push!

Justin's parents came in town this weekend. It started off to be a work weekend because Justin's been wanting to work on our backyard some more. However the weather quickly changed those plans. We head to the mall to get everyone out of the house a little before dinner and where else to you take a kid than to the toy store. For whatever reason I was lagging behind everyone else but when I headed to meet them in the back of the store I grabbed this shopping cart and pushed it towards Elizabeth who was in her stroller. She proceed to push it around the store while still being pushed in her stroller. When we tried to put it back up she wasn't happy and needless to say the grandparents can't take that so they just "had" to buy it. I think we can say she likes it!
Oh yes, and I did buy my first little boy clothes!
JCPenny's was having a huge sale and we had to have some "blue" outfits.

Model

Not quite ready for the run way...Elizabeth modeling the new dress her mommy made her.
(No the girl doesn't need any clothes but it's fun)

Hey!

Elizabeth was trying to hide from the camera so she could drink her milk in peace but we won't have any of that!!

My first pictures!!

Finally, after what seemed like forever, 21wks, we got the first glimpse of our newest little family member. The best news of the day was everything looks perfect, all the organs and body structure look good and they were able to see everything they wanted...

...and then some. This was the very first picture we saw when she placed the wand on my stomach. I think he was trying to tell us something!!

Elizabeth joined us for the big event and took everything in with a very serious look. She was very concerned with what they were doing to her mama.

Little artist...

Little E is turning into quite the "scribbler"!! I wasn't sure how much she'd be into the side walk chalk but its been a BIG hit. Thanks Steph! Her and Shelby use it almost every day and tonight she convinced her daddy to come draw with her. Luckily we are having rain almost everyday so she has a clean slate each day.

Need babysitter advise...

What should you do when your babysitter is a bad influence? I told her if she kept this up we'd have to start cutting her pay!

Just around the corner

Touch Down, Auburn!!

That's right, football season is right around the corner so Elizabeth had to try on her cheer leading outfit. She recently figured how to get in and out of her rocker on her own so now it's her favorite thing to do. She felt it necessary to bring this from the office into the living room ( and she did it completely on her own) so now we have a new piece of living room furniture!

15 months...

Elizabeth turned 15 months last week, it doesn't seem like 3 months have past since her birthday bash. Anyway, to celebrate she had a doctor appointment this morning. She continues to be a healthy girl. She weighted 25lb and 31.5 inches. Doctor confirmed what we already knew (after a weekend of runny nose and liquid diapers) that we have more teeth headed our way...the top eye teeth will be making there presence soon. She was lucky that they had a combo shot available so that meant only one shot for the two vaccines she needed today. She let out a good scream but luckily by then it was over!

Momma's little helper...

What are you looking at?? Havent you ever seen me clean?

Notice the action shot as she gets her body behind the push.

Mom's usually on a mission to clean and only give this to Elizabeth once it's off. Dad on the other hand gave it to her yesturday while it was still running and she loved it. She kept going for over 10 minutes with the biggest grin on her face.

New place setting

Due to the rain, we ended up making an extra lap around the mall to kill some time, including a stop by the Disney store. So we ended up with a new place setting for our china collection, it's the "fairy" collection. Elizabeth decided it made a good drum set once we got home and mom and dad wanted to take a nap.

Who knew...

...a trip to the mall would be so much fun. After Dad mowed the grass in 100% humidity Saturday morning we decide to venture to the mall for some cool, free entertainment. It was overcast, rain, and hot so there wasn't much to do outside and Mom needed out of the house!
So upon arriving, it's lunch time so we head toward the food court to let Elizabeth use her free Chickfila meal she earned at the library. Before we made it to Chickfila we ran into the "cookie". Unfortenty we didn't have our camera but it was the Cookie company joined with Habitat for a birthday celabration and for $1 donation you get a slice of their HUGE cookie...probably 6'x6'. In addition, Elizabeth got this great hat, noise maker, sticker, and coloring book. So we had desert and then headed to lunch.
After lunch we walked a bit before stopping by the kids play area. Elizabeth wasn't sure about it at first but quickly warmed up to the idea. She was lucky to get out alive as there were a lot of older kids running around. She loved the slide and was able to make it up the steps with out help, although mom or dad was needed to keep her from getting run over.

Growing Up

Over the past several days, Elizabeth has been blurting out new words left and right. What was a 3 word vocabulary for the longest time (dada, mama, and dog) has at least tripled. Shoes, cheese, duck, potty, cracker...ready or not she'll be talking in no time.

The other "grown up" move she made was to the big table! She's always been real good about sitting in her highchair yet lately as soon as we get her down she wants to climb in our laps and just sit at the table. Justin made the suggestion of getting a booster seat but I must admit I wasn't convinced until I saw her excitement about it. When you say lunch or dinner she runs right to her chair. Now with no tray we'll have to invest in some plastic kid plates. I honestly thought we'd use the high chair longer but I guess we'll put that away...at least for 10 months!!

27 on 7/7/07

Happy Birthday Uncle Bry Bry !!

One year ago today!

In honor of my brother's birthday (or my craving) we ventured out to the japanese steak house with Elizabeth tonight. (We always celebrate his birthday at Da Ru Ma's in Naples) She did great although wasnt sure what to think of the fire, we almost had a break down but it was averted with food! Her favorite tonight was scalops. She enjoyed playing with the chop sticks but quickly decided fingers were faster!

Fried breakfast!

Anything is good fried, right? Growing up, my mom would fix us "homemade" donuts...canned biscuits with holes cut out and fried. A little powdered sugar and yum!! I have fixed them a few times for Justin, who thought I was crazy at first but requests them now. Today was Elizabeth first time sharing the fun. And yes, she liked them too!

Cold weather are the beach??

You may wonder why Elizabeth is wearing a sweat shirt in July at the beach...well, funny story. The first night we set the a/c down real low, as we always do. I was hot when we got back to the room after dinner. Elizabeth had passed out in the car on the way home so we just laid her down in bed. About 2 in the morning she started crying. I got up gave her her binky and noticed she was burrowed in the corner of her pack and play. Even with the binky she continued to cry although she appeared to be asleep. So I picked her up and she was quiet and asleep on my shoulder and I noticed her body was very cool to the touch. Luckily we had a king bed so I laid her down between us and she slept soundly for another 5 and half hours. So needless to say the next night I put her long pajama pants and sweat shirt on before bed!!

Fun in the sun and sand

This is hard work walking through this sand.

Enough pictures, can i go play in the sand now??? Elizabeth's patience for her parents wearing thin.I think I could dive right in....

...Bathing beauty...

Ah, the feel of sand in your hands!!

Elizabeth really enjoyed the beach this time. It took three days but she really warmed up to the idea of the ocean and the pool. She got to were she would swim back and forth between mom and dad, holding on of course. Played on the steps of the pool and did lots of kicking and splashing. Can't wait until next time as each trip gets more fun and exciting!

She didn't make it

She didn't make it until dark for the fireworks. I guess the corn, crabs, and playing with Kyle and Shelby wore her out. She was snoring so loud he dad had to turn the TV up!

Fourth of July

We had a quite fourth around the house. Our neighbors came over to boil crabs, so of course it rained! We took Elizabeth outside in hopes to keep her up 30 more minutes to watch the fireworks. We did catch a few earlier fireworks and i wish we had captured the look on her face. She moved a little closer becasue of the loud noise but looked into the sky with amazement.

Daddy's big helper!

Ma and Pops got us a bushel of corn so we spent most of Wednesday morning cleaning, blanching and bagging it. Elizabeth joined right in to help. She tried her best to remove all the silk. For some reason though daddy say's she created more work than helped.

Happy 4th of July!!

Elizabeth wanted to wish everyone a Happy 4th of July!! She will miss Papa's ribs this year!!
More beach pictures to come......

Protein bar anyone??

Why is my picture getting blurry, Mom??
After a morning of swimming in the gulf and playing in the sand Elizabeth decided she needed a protein bar, after her bath. I knew better than to put her white shirt on but we ended up changing the skirt after only thirty minutes.

Play date with Hannah

Although we like to think we take a lot of pictures, we seem to always forget to take them when traveling. Luckily, Hannah's personal photographer was around today. We "borrowed" this picture and hope we aren't infringing on any copyrights!! You can see more pictures on Hannah's web page.
Hannah's is two and a little more into interactive play than Elizabeth is but as you can see Elizabeth is paying close attention to Hannah's instructions. All the while protecting the food. (if you look closely you'll she is clutching the hamburger, croissant, and bun. She left the lettuce for Hannah)
Thanks to the Lomax's for having us over, we have a good time. It's always good seeing you.

Future boyfriend??

Not if Dad has anything to say about it. Sunday we headed down to Gulf Shores and met up with the Catons. Kade is one of Elizabeth's many older friends by three whole weeks.

Kade showing off his moves to Elizabeth!

How handsome!! Kade sporting the spider man goggles.

How do they look on me??

Elizabeth enjoyed playing with all Kade's toys including his spider man toys.

By the end of the first night Kade was trying to propose to Elizabeth (that's a ring in his hand). But Elizabeth wasn't ready to make that kind of commitment this early in their relationship!!

Sunday morning Elizabeth and Kade got acquainted down on the beach, played in the wading pool, went swimming in the big pool, and basically played "around" each other most of the day. They also had their first dinner date Monday night but with parent supervision of course. Kade was giving out kiss by the end of the night but Elizabeth wasn't as willing to accept them.

It was great seeing you guys...thanks to all for their hospitality!!
