Big boy bed

Logan's been sleeping on a bed frame but we decided his empty room needed a piece of real furniture. Little did we know it would show up in time for our company! So far no one has sleep up top. They will climb and play up there but when it comes time for sleep theyed rather be on the floor. In due time...Papa was here just in time to lend daddy a hand putting it together.

Miss Emily came to visit. The kids loved having a more interactive baby in the house. Elizabeth would try to "read" to Emily and Emily would crawl away.

Yesturday we were talking about my Dad coming in town tomorrow and Elizabeth said, "Handy Papa?" ( It's usually Grammy's Papa or Mimi's Papa). I ask her what she's talking about. You know Handy Papa...he made my playset. Oh yeah he is handy.

Today

Our fridge broke yesturday...i mean really broke and the milk is in coolers. So we made an emergancy run to Home Depot, bought a floor model, and it was delievered today.

E: What are we going to do with our old fridge.
H: Put it in the garage and try to fix it. If not, it's going to the dump.
E: Like Papa's with drinks in it.
H: Yes, like Papa has.
E: So yours broke as a little girl and your dad fixed it.
H: Yes.
E: Papa's handy


We are looking forward to seeing "Handy Papa" tomorrow!

Luke hung out in the stroller just trying to stay cool on a hot summer night.
Logan was pretty hesitant about touch all the animals except the "lizard" - iguana. He had some fascination with it. I guess its from all the lizards they try to catch around the new house.

Last week was family night at the Audubon Zoo. We recently got a new membership there so we head there after work last Wed. They had lots of booth and little things set up as extras for the kids. And while it was hot, it wasn't as bad as it could have been and for that we were thankful.

Our "oil" suvineer

This was Sunday morning in the surf.

Of course one reason for the last minute beach trip, besides just really needing a break from house projects, was the unknown of what the oil will do to the beaches the remainder of the summer. For us, Friday and Sat morning beach was just fine, no signs of oil. Later Sat afternoon other guest at the condo were talking about it so of course we had to check it out. (And no, we didn't take the kids any where near the beach once they said the oil was there but it didn't slow others down from swimming in it!) Sure enough it had rolled that way in just a few short hours. Sat evening it was very thick, large globs of what looked like chocolate. Sunday morning we took the camera to take these pictures but what was in the surf was much smaller, granular than the day before.

Luke - 2 months

Luke got his first round of shots today. He weighed in at 13lb 12 oz and was 23 inches. His stats are right btw the other two so no surprises.

These days he is staying up longer and getting better at night also. He is full of smiles and loves playing w Elizabeth.
