"you missed a spot"

This little broom sings, "Sweeping, sweeping, you missed a spot" and Logan loves it. Evidently my sweeping and mopping were good enough.

I asked him to take his paci out and he chuncked it! Hopefully we can get rid of them for good sooner rather than later as we are getting tired of keeping up with them.

Busy little girl

Yesturday was a "project" day for us. We got several baby gifts and such made, fix an outfit for Logan to where and his blankie, made Elizabeth a new blankie becasue she wanted one like Logan's, and a new "crawfish" dress for the summer!

Here comes Peter Cotton Tail

To our surprise Logan loved the bunny ears.

Of course we have to fight over EVERYTHING these days.
And if Logan gets his picture taken I want mine taken too! Miss E

Stawberries everywhere

Since we ate all the jam from last year I decide it was time to make some more. The strawberries are looking beautiful and very sweet so it was perfect timing! Of course I had my little helper with me!
Helping "mash" the strawberries. We ended up doing three batches so we should be good to go for the year!

It's that time of year again!

The kids wanted to play with the crawfish...

so we let them. This one seemed docile enough...

until the gentle giant got a hold of it. Once he fell on top of it it seemed to get a little more feisty so we had to put him back before some one got hurt.
Logan learning the ropes of how to boil crawfish from his dad. This was Logan's first boil since he's been eating table food! He was still on a liquid diet last crawfish season.
Patiently waiting for the crawfish...

Don't tease me with the dad...give it here I'm hungry.

Elizabeth apologizing to the little crawfish for the hot bath it just got.
Yes, that's the dirty cooler we washed the crawfish in and our son decided to play in when we turned our backs. Just one of the many reasons they got baths as soon as we came inside.

Let dig in...the kids probably ate 2-3lbs themselves tonight. They both were eating them as fast as Justin and I could peal them. We always try to do a small boil for ourselves in early spring usually with a half a sack but if our kids keep this up will have to start getting a sack just for the four of us. My daughter showed up her mom and was sucking the heads, then stuck her finger in to pull out the "fat"! Not cup of tea but whatever she was born in Louisiana!

Fun in the sun

We all enjoyed spending the day at home and outside in the sun! Logan was playing peek-a-boo.
"driving" the school bus as Elizabeth says.

Elizabeth was playing with the dog and wanted me to take her picture...

Next thing I know she's dancing...

And yes she gets her dancing skills, or lack there of, from her parents!

Birthday girls...

That's right Elizabeth and Auburn share the same birthday and it's coming up in a few weeks! Elizabeth will be three and Auburn will be 8 (49), she's over the hill in dog years. She still looks as good as she did at two but is even sweeter!

Rotten jelly

Yes, Justin and I are those people with a stocked pantry. A back up of everything. About a month ago on a family grocery outing Justin pick-up a jar of grape jelly becasue he knew our last jar of strawberry jelly was in the fridge. Elizabeth has recently taken a liking to PB&J so ever since then she's been wanting to open the grape jelly and I told her not until we finish the strawberry.

So the other night Elizabeth's in her own world "cooking" ie, cups, beads, plastic easter and baskets = apple and blueberry pie. (Yes, the girl is good a pretend play!) Out of the blue she comes up to me...

E: Can we make Easter eggs?
M: What are you talking about? (making sure we are both on the same page)
E: you know, color them.
M: No honey, it's too early, it's not Easter yet.
E: But we got our Easter stuff out.
M: Yes, we got the baskets out but if we dye eggs now they will rot.
E: We can put them in the fridge and they won't rot.
M: They will still rot in the fridge because Easter's still too far a way.
E: Why, I realllly want to color eggs.
M: Some things still rot even in the fridge.
E: The jelly is rot, we need to get the new jelly out.
M: (in my head, what a smarty pants we have on our hand, man are we in trouble!)

Scraggle tooth

So we had a double dentist appointment this morning. Elizabeth ran right in, by herself, got an xray and cleaning all by herself. She came running out ready to go to her St Pattys Party at school. But Logan had his first dentist appointment first. I've been calling "scraggle tooth" for sometime because his front top 4 teeth have just never looked right to me. There has always been a big gap between both the left ones and the right ones and the outside ones seemed turned side ways. So any ways, the dentist gets him to open his mouth, sorta kinda, and quickly says, "Did you know your son has extra teeth, does it run in the family"?? I'm thinking no I've never heard of this but apparently it a pretty common thing and often is passed down. (I'm blaming Justin for this one - I have pretty teeth thanks to braces and lots of $$) Anyways, he says it's really no big deal at this point we'll just have to wait until he gets old and see if he has extra adult teeth, then we may have to pull some. Now we have to go through teething, runny diapers, drool, for two extra teeth - oh boy, what a lucky boy!
Happy St Patty's Day!!

A little Green!

Today, despite the rain, we headed to the Pitkins for another great St Patty's Parade Party! Thanks for the invite and being such great hosts!
Elizabeth was styling in her St Patty's dress that she helped make and hello kitty rain boots! She even had the fun of splashing around in the puddles without mom getting mad.

Because of the rain we left the camera at home. The kids were hamming it up for several other people's camera so if get some of those we'll share. We got tons of beads, footballs, Frisbees, cups, inappropriate tattoos, a t-shirt, basketball and a couple kosies! The Oscar Myer hot dog truck was in the parade along with several marching bands. The best part was the kids wore their selves out, fell asleep in the car, and then both slept for 2+ hours once we were home so Mom and Dad also got a nice Sat afternoon nap - doesn't get much better than that!

Fishin'

Daddy showing off his catch to his son! Things guys like to do when the ladies are "showering".
Justin fried up this red fish Saturday night...
it was only an appetizer because it was the only catch but it's an improvement!

Early for church again!

Elizabeth showing off her new dress from Aunt Flossie. We are all enjoying the warmer weather - sunny and 85F today!
I'm tired of pics Mom!

Our best attempt at a family pic!

Papa and Logan got plenty of time together Sat as we did the shower and Daddy fished. Thanks for playing with me!
Auntie T with her arms full!

Once Auntie T held both Mimi had to show she could do it too! It's quite a load at a combined 60+ lbs!

Shower time

Flower girls...Elizabeth and Catherine.
Elizabeth and the bride, Mary Candace
Elizabeth going for the chocolate covered strawberries!

Elizabeth wanting to play us a melody...mom paranoid she was going to break the antique piano.

We held the shower at the Portie House in Mobile and they happened to be having an outdoor wedding across the street at the same time. Everyone was waiting to see the bride!

Mary, her bridesmaids and flower girls!

Logan turns 15 Months

Logan was 15 months yesterday...he's really been changing lately. Getting taller (which the doctor confirmed) and growing hair which both make him look more like a little boy than a baby much to mommy's dismay! He weighed in at 25 lbs and 32.25 inches. She commented that he jumped from about 50% in height to around 80% but kept his weight at 50% which is good. I looked back at Elizabeth's 15month stats (click here) and he still is just a touch taller but exactly the same weight. She said he was a healthy little guy, moving around great, and jabbering none stop. He wasn't a fan of the shots but that didn't last long! He's done with shots until he's two - yeah for both of us!

A friend videoed the parade at Elizabeth school a few weeks back. Here's a link to it. Elizabeth is about half way through, you can just see her excitement!
