We have so much to be thankful for this Thanksgiving. All our prayers were answered for logan and his "bump", we have two beautiful, healthy children, lots of thoughtful, loving family, and more blessings than we can count!
Happy Thanksgiving to all!!!

Biker
Elizabeth has become quite the little biker. She loves riding to see the ducks at the pond. And you can see Logan's not far behind!

Family Tradition
So I'm not really sure how old of a family tradition this really is but as long as I can remember we've always make "Icebox fruit cake" for Christmas. You make it around Thanksgiving and then refrigerate until Christmas. Justin laughs because there's really no fruit, dried or other wise, and it's not really a cake either. More like a candy, slice and eat cookie...but what ever you call it, I like and so did Elizabeth when she helped make it for the first time this year! So it's in frig and we'll break it out when Christmas is closer.
Wi Willy the Second
Thursday Logan woke up with his eye all red so we went to the dr just in case it was something we need antibiotics for...dr said it was probably just a bite of some kind, use benadryl and call if it doesn't get better. This is what it looked like Sat morning. We did warm compresses Sat and are happy to report it was back to normal this morning! Yeah. Dr mom thinks it was a clogged tear duct like he had once when he was little. As you can tell it didn't faze him.
We are beginning to think he is taking after his Uncle Bry and becoming accident prone! Every time we turn around he has another injury, bump or bruise! We are not too hopeful that 2009 will be any less of an adventure for him.
This was Sunday night and you can see it looks much better!
Elizabeth's Thanksgiving!
Elizabeth's school celebrated Thanksgiving Friday. They helped "fix" lunch for their parents...chicken nuggets, fruit salad, mac and cheese, and deserts of course.
They were all wearing their class shirts with Turkey hand prints. I'm sure Elizabeth's was the best since her and daddy have been making hand turkeys since last Thanksgiving. They also made necklaces, Indian hats, and a place mat!

Take my breath away dinner!
I took fish out for dinner tonight so when Justin got home I asked what we should do with it?? He said "let's try blackening it". I'm thinking not so hard, it's a very common menu item around here. So I jump online and find a "cajun" recipe for blackening fish. You make up a little spice rub and then cook in butter on a hot cast iron. Easy enough right...well we started and after a few minutes there was a little smoke and i started coughing as I stood over the stove. I didn't think much of it because there was a lot of cayenne pepper. Next thing I know Justin says I think we need to open the window...and shortly after that Elizabeth starts coughing...and then Logan. It was as if cayenne pepper was in the air. The whole house was a cloud of spicy smoke. You were alright if you breathed through your nose but if you took a big breath in your mouth - your breath was gone!! So we coughed our way through dinner with all three doors and several windows open. By the time dinner was over the air had cleared for the most part. As for the food...Justin really liked the fish, it was a little too blackened and spicy for me. The kids stuck with soy beans and potatoes...there appetites are still recovering from the stomach bug.

11 months
Happy 11 month birthday Logan. Wow he's almost a year, Mama's gonna cry. Its been a busy month for him with his surgry and all. He's walking more than crawling around the house these days. He got his fifth tooth. He's using sippy cups more, he babbling, says Dada alot, and giving sweet kisses. He's also understanding simple commands like give that to me or come here.
"Sissy" didn't want to miss out on the camera time.

Although he wasn't feeling well last night, camera time in the big red chair cheered him up and he just started clapping for no apparent reason.

Chunks
Poor baby, she was still asleep at 9 this morning so Justin went in to check on her and found her sleeping in puke. We have had two additional "events". She runs around like she's fine for several hours, lays down for 30mins to rest, pukes, repeat. A 24 hr bug has been going around town so I'm afraid it's her turn. I just hope she's over it tomorrow and the rest of us stay healthy.
Play dough
One of Elizabeth's favorite activities these days is playdough. A friend of mine recently made some to sell as gifts sets and that inspired to give it a try. I found this recipe online, just used the basic dough and it turned out great. It's a lot softer than the store bought and doesn't have the strange smell.

Off
14 and counting
We have a strong suspicion Logan's first 14 stitches won't be his last. He loves to climb, climb, climb, any where he can get he's legs up.
